MSlot specifications · X banner

Seven slots. Exact sizes. Each checked on its own.

Everything a sponsor needs to make a creative that will pass its checks, and everything a creator needs to build the banner.

Geometry

Where each slot is, on the 1500×500 banner X serves.

These are the same rectangles the protocol checks. Machine-readable in slots.json.

Creative rules

Make a creative the checks can recognise.

  • Exact slot size, PNG or JPG. Make the creative at the slot's pixel size. The creator places it in the slot without scaling; each check looks at exactly that rectangle.
  • It needs a logo, text, or edges. The check recognises shapes, not colours. A plain colour block can't be told apart from another one, so it can't be booked.
  • X's compression is fine. Banners are recompressed on upload. We tested on real ones: the change is well inside the match tolerance, and a different creative is far outside it.
  • A small nudge is still your ad. Shifting a logo by a few dozen pixels still passes. Swapping it for something else does not.
  • Neighbours don't affect you. Each slot is checked independently. Another sponsor changing, arriving or leaving doesn't touch your checks.
  • Slot 07 sits partly under the avatar on desktop. The check still passes (it reads the banner image, not the page), but fewer people see it — creators usually price it lower.
CHECKS

Every 5 minutes

288 a day, each a pass or a fail. A check that couldn't be made — X rate-limited us, the network dropped — isn't counted against anyone.

ALLOWANCE

2 failed checks forgiven

Never more than were passed. A creator who showed nothing gets nothing.

PAYOUT

On the checks that happened

The creator is paid the passed share of the escrow, less a 2.5% fee from their side. The sponsor gets the rest back. Anyone can trigger it once the booking ends.

For creators

Three steps to list.

01

Upload the template as your banner

Or your own design that keeps the seven rectangles where the template has them. Sponsor creatives go into the rectangles as they are booked.

02

Put your claim code in your bio

One code proves the profile is yours and covers every slot you list. It looks like displaid:3DXdzK2gsYwUNX2F

03

List the slots, set a price per day

Each slot is booked and paid on its own. Checks start on the first day of a booking.
